A new study out of India has found that vegetarian women had 40% less breast cancer compared to their meat-eating counterparts. India currently has just one-fifth the breast cancer rates compared to the USA and Europe, probably because a large portion of the population is #vegetarian. Importantly, the women here were lacto-ovo-vegetarians and—unexpectedly—also had lower #breastcancer risk compared to stricter lacto-vegetarians who don’t eat eggs. But eggs are rich sources of choline, high intakes of which have been linked to lower breast cancer risk (by up to 60%) in other studies.
